Zoo ZUKH3127 Horizontal Mortice Lock 127mm
ZUKH3127Horizontal mortice locks were more common before the introduction of lever handles. They were often fitted in the Georgian and Victorian times, typically in grand or more expensive homes, where a traditional rim lock was viewed as too 'rustic.' These locks are ideal replacements for old broken locks.

Zoo Architectural Hardware have created a great selection of ZUKH horizontal 3 Lever mortice locks. These locks provide a deeper fixing for the handle into the door than standard dead locks or sashlocks. These locks are Horizontal - This means that the Spindle Follower and Keyhole are on a horizontal plane, rather than a vertical plane, like most standard locks. This imparts a much more spacious aesthetic, and these Horizontal Locks are used to great effect on the Midrail of panelled doors. These locks are usually used in conjunction with Door Knobs. They are very similar in shape and size to a rim lock, except that they are morticed into the door.
